We requested suggestions for the HAMK Person of the Year, and we received plenty of excellent responses. We extend our gratitude to everyone who submitted a proposal at this stage!
We received 70 suggestions, with nominations for 48 different individuals! The HAMK Person of the Year could be nominated by either teaching staff or other personnel. What is particularly noteworthy is that proposals came from staff members across all HAMK campuses.
What comes next? From the multitude of proposals, three were selected, which we then forwarded to the National Union of Students in Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences – SAMOK ry. SAMOK oversees the nationwide distribution of the AMK Teacher of the Year 2024 award. Each student union was permitted to submit three proposals for consideration. The Teacher of the Year award will be bestowed during the national AMK days in spring.
The HAMK Person of the Year will be chosen from all the submissions received. HAMKO’s jury will select the HAMK Person of the Year, who will be honored with a mention of distinction at HAMK’s personnel day in August.
