The Häme University of Applied Sciences Student Union Representative Council held its organisating meeting on Monday, November 20, 2023. At the meeting, the chair and vice-chair and the board of the student union were elected. In addition to the chair and vice chair, 7 board members were elected to the board.
Presidium of the Representative Council
Jutta Pantsu was re-elected as the chair of the council. Jutta is studying for sustainable development at Forssa. Jutta has been the chair of the representative council this year.
“I thank the Representative Council for the trust, it’s great to be able to continue increasing the visibility of the Representative Council, which was started last year. It’s going to be a great year for sure.” Jutta says.
Ville Suppala was also re-elected vice-chair of the council. Ville has been the vice-chair of the representative council this year. Ville is studying transportation in Riihimäki for the second year.
Student Union Board
Henriikka Mastokangas was elected as the Chair of the Board. Henriikka is studying sustainable development in Forssa for the first year. Henriikka has experience in student organization activities as president of OSKU.
“I’m excitedly looking forward to the coming year, and all that I can learn and experience. I’m also looking forward to getting to know the board, HAMKO and, of course, the students.”
Meeri Järvi was re-elected Vice-Chair of the Board. Meeri says: ” I’m looking forward to next year and all the wonderful things it will bring.”
Seven members were elected to the board. They are (in alphabetical order):

- Sini Mäkitalo (Public Health Nursing, Hämeenlinna)
- Juno Olkkola (Social Services, Hämeenlinna)
- Wilhelmiina Pajula (Social Services, Hämeenlinna)
- Pipsa Remes (Horticulture, Lepaa)
- Kia Vasarainen (Horticulture, Lepaa)
- Essi Vestu (Health Care, Forssa)
After the election of the board, the composition of the representative council was determined. A total of seven elected to the representative council were elected to the board. With this, those who were in reserve in the representative council elections become full members of the representative council.
There are currently 16 representatives in the Representative Council, i.e. less than the statutory number of 21. This means that supplementary elections for the Representative Council will be held in early 2024. The by-elections will be announced later.
