Spring 2020 will probably be known as corona spring for a quite long time. Affects of the exceptional spring can be seen now, in the beginning of the new academic year. The first module is still largely studied remotely at HAMK. There won’t be student parties and other events like there has been in previous years, either.
HAMKO’s traditional Alkupamaus, event that celebrates the new academic year, was cancelled earlier. Other student organizations at HAMK have also cancelled or are waiting to re-schedule their biggest events, like Kastajaiset or Tursajaiset (freshman parties). If the situation allows, HAMKO will try to organize smaller events later in the autumn.
Currently, the safest of our plans for autumn are the HAMKO on the Road campus tours at the turn of September and October. Our plan is to visit all HAMK campuses. We will organize a pop-up stand where we will talk about what’s going on at HAMKO, the upcoming Council of Representatives election and other current affairs.
