The Häme University of Applied Sciences Student Union Representative Council, elected in October, met on Monday, November 14. to its organizational meeting. At the meeting, the Chair and Vice-Chair of the representative council and the board were elected. In addition to the chair and vice-chair, six board members were elected to the board.
The Representative Councils leaders
Jutta Pantsu was elected as the Chair of the Representative Council.
Jutta is studying to become an Bachelor of Natural Resources for Sustainable Development at Forssa. This year, Jutta has served as a member of the representative council and vice-chair of the representative council since October.
“I look forward to new and exciting experiences together with other actors from my presidency. It’s wonderful to also be able to develop my expertise in trustee activities. I thank the representative council for the trust!” rejoices Jutta.
Ville Suppala was elected Vice-Chair of the Representative Council. Ville is studying transportation in Riihimäki for the second year.
Ville says: “Last year was spent as a member of the representative council, going to school and working. So there hasn’t been a lack of work.”
The Board 2023
Aino Kouri was elected Chair of the Board. Aino is studying Landscape Design and Construction for the fourth year at the Lepaa campus. Aino’s previous positions of trust can be found at HAMKO as a member of the board and in the presidency. Aino started in 2021 as a member of the board and in the autumn of 2021 became the vice chair of the board. For the past year, Aino has served as chair of the board of HAMKO. In Lepaa, Aino has also operated on the board of LOK ry in various positions in the seasons 2020-2022.
Meeri Järvi was elected as the Vice-Chair of the Board. Meeri is a second-year social services student from Hämeenlinna. Meeri has served on HAMKO’s representative council this year, and also as a tutor.
There were six seats on the board and six people nominated. Therefore, there was no need to hold a vote. The following were elected as board members (in alphabetical order):

- Lampinen Maisa (Bachelor of Health Care, Hämeenlinna)
- Linna Antti (Electrical and Automation Engineering, Valkeakoski)
- Luntta Sami (Agricultural and Rural Industries, Bachelor of Natural Resources, Mustiala)
- Lähti Silja (Sustainable Development, Bachelor of Natural Resources, Forssa)
- Torkkeli Tuomas (Information and Communication Technology, Bio and Circular Economy, Engineer, Forssa)

A total of seven members of the representative council were elected to the board. There are currently fewer representatives in the representative council than the statutory number, which is why by-elections for the representative council will be held in early 2023.
