In the autumn 2024 representative elections, the Representative Council was left incomplete when some of the elected members applied for and were accepted into the HAMKO board. Those on the reserve were then promoted to full members of the representative body, leaving one position vacant.
In January, we organized a by-election, where the number of candidates matched the number of open positions. Therefore, the candidate could be selected directly to the representative council according to the student union’s rules, without an election.
Subsequently, one member of the representative council had to resign, and we organized a second by-election. Two candidates came forward, and we held an election. The voting was conducted electronically, and a voting link was sent to the student union members’ student email. The voting started on March 31, 2025, at 9:00 AM and ended on April 2, 2025, at 4:00 PM.
In the by-election, Elias Nikkari (Information and Communication Technology) and Kati Leppilampi (Horticulture) were elected to the HAMKO Representative Council.
In the second representative election, one candidate remained on reserve. Those on the reserve will be promoted to full members if a representative council member has to resign during their term. This can happen, for example, due to graduation, interruption of studies, or changing school.
