The orientation of the HAMKO Board of 2026 began and the first orientation sessions were held on December 8-10, 2025.
On December 8, a joint orientation day was organized for the HAMKO Board, the Representative Council, and the student associations that are partners of the Student Union. In addition to training, getting to know each other, and brainstorming together, the students were greeted by HAMK Rector Pertti Puusaari and Vice-Rector Heidi Ahokallio-Leppälä.
In the following days, the Board continued its training and held its first official meeting. At the organizational meeting, they divided their areas of responsibility, which were divided as follows:
Silja Nyberg: Chair of the Board, Advocacy
Mika Lukkarinen: Vice-Chair of the Board, Partner Associations
Nea Suorsa: Events, Student Culture
Juno Olkkola: Well-being, Sustainable Student Union
Helmi Puranen: Communications, Member Benefits and Services
Nelli Katainen: Communications, Events
Vera Forsten: Tutoring and Orientation, Events
Oscar Korju: Internationality, Community
The Chair of the Representative Council for the 2026 term will be Eemeli Mäenpää and the Vice-Chair of the Representative Council will be Ida Heikkinen.
The term of office of the Board and the Representative Council will begin on 1 January 2026.
