Standing for election

Standing for election has ended.

Every member of the student union who has fulfilled their membership obligations has the right to stand as a candidate. The candidates for the Representative Council shall be nominated in the manner determined by the Central Election Committee no later than twenty-one (21) days before the first election day.

The Central Election Committee checks the candidates’ right to stand as a candidate and approves the candidates upon registration.

The Central Election Committee determines the numbers in use and draws the election numbers from the lists.

You can run as a non-attached candidate or as a candidate for an electoral alliance. Standing for election begins on Monday 25.9.2023 at 9:00 and ends on Monday 16.10.2023 at 12:00.

Electoral Alliance

Candidates may, if they so wish, form an electoral alliance, which is a group of more than one candidate whose votes are counted in favor of the candidates. An electoral alliance shall authorize one candidate to act as an electoral alliance representative. Electoral alliance representative has to be a candidate in the elections. The electoral alliance may include a maximum of as many elected representatives as possible, maximum of twenty-one (21) candidates. A candidate may stand as a candidate only in one electoral alliance or electoral ring.

Electoral ring

The establishment of an electoral ring needs an document, signed by the representatives of the electoral alliances belonging to it, and any non-attached candidates. The document needs to state the name of the electoral ring and the names of electoral alliances and non-attached candidates. The electoral ring may include a maximum of as many elected representatives as possible, maximum of twenty-one (21) candidates. A candidate may stand as a candidate only in one electoral alliance or electoral ring.

The electoral ring can be established by:

  • Two or more electoral alliances
  • One or more electoral alliances and one or more non-attached candidates
  • Two or more non-attached candidates
