The Council of Representatives is the highest decision-making body in the Student Union. Council members are selected annually via election. Council of Representatives official language and working language is Finnish.
Every autumn, 21 members of the Council of Representatives are elected in the Council of Representatives elections, whose term of office is always the following calendar year. The elected members of the Council of Representatives elect from among themselves the Chairperson of the Council and the Vice-Chairperson. All students who have registered as present students and who have paid the Student Union membership fee are eligible to run in the election.
The Central Election Committee is responsible for the implementation and monitoring of the elections. The Central Electoral Committee assists and advises on matters relating to voting rights and voting, as well as candidates and candidacy. The Central Election Committee also confirms and publishes the election results after the end of the vote.
