The Representative Council of the Student Union of Häme University of Applied Sciences held its organizational meeting on Monday, November 25, 2024. During this important meeting, trustees for the upcoming year were elected.
Presidency of the Representative Council
Kia Vasarainen was elected as the Chair of the Representative Council, Kia is a 3rd year student of Horticulture. The Vice-Chair is Mikael Laitinen, who is a 2nd year Entrepreneurship and Business Administration student. Congratulations to both on their new roles!
Kia says cheerfully: “I thank the representative council for the trust, let’s make it a really good year together.” Mikael agrees: “It’s a great feeling and it’s nice to be able to do more after being a member of the representative council for a year.”
Student Union Board
The Chair of the Student Union Board for 2025 is Juno Olkkola, a student of Social Services. The vice-chair will be Olli-Petteri Lahti, who studies health care, nursing.
In addition, six members were elected to the board (listed in alphabetical order):

Eemeli Mäenpää, Traffic and Transport Management
Iisa Leino, Entrepreneurship and Business Administration
Jenni Rosendahl, Electrical and Automation Engineering
Pinja Saturi, Forestry
Silja Nyberg, Social Services
“I have waiting feeling and I feel confident that the next year will be successful with this team.” says Juno about feelings. Olli-Petteri continues: “It’s a good feeling now. The new year is always better than the last, and I’m looking forward to what the year in the board will bring.”
After the election of the board, the composition of the representative council was also confirmed. The members of the representative council elected to the board were replaced by candidates in reserve in the order according to their ordinal number.
Congratulations to selected!
There are currently 20 representatives in the Representative Council, i.e. one less than the required number of 21. This means that by-elections for the Representative Council will be held in early 2025. All Häme University of Applied Sciences student union students who have a valid membership in the student union and have registered as present students for the academic year 2024–2025 can run for office in the by-elections.
