HAMKO’s traditional start-of-the-academic-year event, Alkupamaus, will be celebrated on Thursday, September 12, 2024.
This year’s theme is 🎲 LAS VEGAS 🎲, so dig out your theme-appropriate outfits and accessories—dressing up in Las Vegas style is more than encouraged!
The event features a fun task trail called Ryöminki, where you can test your skills and luck in theme-related tasks. After the tour, the after-party will kick off at Nightclub Hohto and Bar Skogster, where the Las Vegas vibe will continue!
TASK TRAIL: RYÖMINKI 🎲
Gather a team of 2–8 people and embark on an adventure!
- Pick up your checkpoint pass on the event day from HAMKO’s green tent at Hämeenlinna market square.
- The checkpoints are open from 4:30 PM to 10:00 PM.
- Start time is between 4:30 PM and 8:00 PM.
- If you want to participate in the checkpoint competition, remember to return your team’s checkpoint pass to the market square by 10:30 PM at the latest. The team with the highest score will be rewarded!
- Start and finish location: Hämeenlinna market square, HAMKO’s green tent.
NOTE: Some checkpoints are located in restaurants/bars, so remember to bring your ID to prove you are over 18 years old.
AT THE MARKET SQUARE? 🔥
At Hämeenlinna market square, you can explore the booths of local vendors at the event market, which is open until 7:00 PM.
The evening at the square culminates in a spectacular light show! 🔥 Fire Lady will perform twice at 9:30 PM and 10:30 PM.
AFTER-PARTY – In Las Vegas Style! 🎲
After the task trail, those with an after-party ticket will head to the nightclubs, Skogster or Hohto.
On stage at both venues, you’ll see Finland’s leading drag artist, Marko Vainio, whose Divet Show by Marko Vainio brings glitz, energy, and genuine Las Vegas flair. This is something you don’t want to miss!

- Bar Skogster: Showtime at 11:30 PM (Raatihuoneenkatu 8, 13100 Hämeenlinna)
- Nightclub Hohto: Showtime at 1:00 AM (Sibeliuksenkatu 9, 13100 Hämeenlinna)
Those who have purchased an after-party ticket will receive a wristband, which serves as an entry ticket to the after-party location of your choice. The nightclubs open at 10:00 PM – see you there!

Everyone is welcome to the event, both students and student-minded people. As a HAMKO member, you get your ticket at an even more affordable price!
Both after-party tickets and checkpoint-only tickets are available. After-party tickets include access to the checkpoint tour, entry to the after-party, and cloakroom fees. All tickets include the event’s overall badge, which cannot be purchased separately.

MEETING POINT

TICKET REDEMPTION 🎲
Tickets purchased from Kide.app must be redeemed as an entry ticket for the event. When redeeming your ticket, you will receive the event’s overall badge, and those who purchased an after-party ticket will also receive a wristband for the after-party location.
Redemption can be done either:
- In advance, starting from September 2, at HAMKO’s office at Hämeenlinna University Centre (Building C, Room C-138). Tickets can be redeemed until 1:00 PM on September 12.
- Or on the event day, from HAMKO’s tent at Hämeenlinna market square starting at 4:30 PM.
There will be separate lines at the tent for those redeeming tickets in advance and those redeeming on the event day.
SAFETY 🛡️
Safety is the most important thing, and we ensure that every adventurer has a great journey. We want to provide a harassment-free event—if you experience any kind of harassment or inappropriate behavior at the event, please contact the event’s anti-harassment contact persons.
- Make sure you’re dressed for the weather. Remember to eat well and drink water.
- Consuming your own drinks in restaurants and their property is not allowed. Let’s all follow this rule so that we can continue organizing events at these venues.
Also, remember: - Take care of your team and friends, and don’t leave anyone alone.
- Be considerate of others and don’t block public pathways.
- Let’s have fun in good spirits—don’t disturb, discriminate, or bully others.
- The decision to drink or not drink is part of one’s autonomy—don’t pressure anyone to drink.
- In emergencies (requiring police, ambulance, or fire services), call the emergency number 112.
SCHEDULE
- HAMKOs tent is open from 16:15 to 22:45
- Booth at the event market are open from 16:15 to 19:00
- You can collect a map to the task trail from 16:30
- You can go to the task checkpoints between 16:30 and 20:00
- The checkpoints are open from 16:30 to 22:00
- Return the pass to HAMKO’s tent no later than 22:30
- Fire Lady’s light show in the market square at 21:30 and 22:30 (performance duration approx. 15 min)
- The doors to the after-parties open at 10:00 p.m.
- Miss Divet Show by Marko Vainio performance times: Skogster at 23:30, Hohto at 01:00.
